Erdogan is Set to Hold Talks with Russia and the UN

Erdogan told Putin to establish peace as soon as possible. Turkey wants to sit down for talks.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan spoke on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday.

President Erdogan said his country was ready to hold talks in Istanbul with Russia and the United Nations, and that his country could take part in a possible monitoring process if the two sides agreed.

Erdogan has called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to take steps to ensure that the negative aspects of the war are kept to a minimum.

Erdogan also told Putin that peace needed to be established as soon as possible.

Representatives of Russia last met in Turkey on March 29. But the talks, mediated by Turkey, did not yield any significant results.
