Bill Rakonczay, an ONBOCES Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering teacher, was recognized for his exceptional work in August 2023. He was named the first-ever Haas Educator of the Year by the Gene Haas Foundation. As part of the prize, ONBOCES gets to collaborate with Edge Factor, a leading provider of educational resources, to create impactful media highlighting the various programs and educational pathways they offer.

They will be filming a story that captures the program's results, following a former student who is now a successful CNC Machinist at HFW Industries. The much-anticipated opening of ONBOCES' renovated shop on May 9th will mark the debut of this new media content. Jeremy Bout, the President and Founder of Edge Factor, will also be present to commemorate this momentous occasion.
