NTT DOCOMO, INC. has officially launched MANGA MIRAI, a cutting-edge digital manga platform aimed at bringing the world of Japanese manga to English-speaking audiences in the United States. In collaboration with MyAnimeList Co., Ltd., Akatsuki Group, and MEDIA DO Co., Ltd., the platform offers an extensive collection of over 11,000 volumes from more than 780 manga titles, including works from leading publishers like Kodansha USA Publishing and SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD.
MANGA MIRAI is designed to cater to anime and manga enthusiasts, enabling them to explore the original manga series behind popular anime adaptations such as WIND BREAKER, The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World, and BLUE LOCK. The platform also features English translations of previously untranslated manga, making it a go-to source for fans looking to discover Japan’s rich and diverse manga culture.
Saori Miyahara, General Manager of NTT DOCOMO's Content Service Department, explained, "The Japanese word 'MIRAI' means 'future'. We named the platform MANGA MIRAI to reflect our mission of bringing the future of manga to the world while supporting creators with official translations and offering incredible untold stories."
NTT DOCOMO, one of Japan's top telecommunications companies, powers MANGA MIRAI using its expertise in entertainment and video streaming services. MyAnimeList, a global anime and manga community, supports the platform’s marketing and user integration, while Akatsuki handles system development and service operations. MEDIA DO collaborates with publishers and translation companies to continually expand the platform's catalog.
