Queens, NY, USA — May 3, 2025:

More than 300 local vendors, workforce development organizations, and community leaders gathered at the Queens Theatre for a full day of community information sessions hosted by Hard Rock at Metropolitan Park. The event focused on future career opportunities and provided a deeper look into the career paths available at Hard Rock.

Throughout the day, attendees were introduced to Hard Rock's unique employee culture and its collaborative approach to community partnerships. Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International, addressed the group, emphasizing how local organizations would play a pivotal role in shaping the vision for Metropolitan Park.

The $8 billion project, a joint venture between New York Mets owner Steve Cohen and Hard Rock International, seeks to transform 50 acres of parking lots around Citi Field into a community-driven development. The project promises to generate more than 23,000 permanent and construction jobs, create 25 acres of new park space, and provide economic opportunities for local businesses and restaurants.

"Hard Rock at Metropolitan Park is about building a better future for Queens, one that includes economic opportunity, meaningful partnerships, and jobs," said Allen. "We’re committed to working directly with local vendors and workforce leaders to deliver on that promise, and we’re excited to bring our world-class entertainment and good-paying union jobs to the borough."

The project aims to create a vibrant community space, with a mix of waterfront parks, live music venues, a Hard Rock Hotel, a casino, and a Queens Food Hall featuring local restaurants and vendors. Additionally, it includes infrastructure improvements, including modernized public transit, bike paths, parking, and an accessible 7-line train station.

"The commitment Hard Rock has shown in putting residents and businesses first is exactly the type of investment our borough needs," said Tom Grech, President of the Queens Chamber of Commerce.

As part of the project’s $1 billion in community benefits, a Community Impact Fund will support nonprofit organizations serving Queens residents, and funding will be allocated for healthcare, youth, and senior initiatives.

With its state-of-the-art amenities and focus on local partnerships, Hard Rock at Metropolitan Park aims to create a lasting impact on Queens, combining entertainment, employment, and community development.
