San Jose, California, USA – May 6, 2025:
LG Display, the global leader in next-generation display technologies, announced today its participation in SID Display Week 2025, the world’s largest display exhibition. Set to take place in San Jose, California from May 13, the event will serve as a global stage for LG Display to unveil its newest innovations in automotive display technology under the theme “Driving the Future.”
At the forefront of LG Display’s showcase is its Stretchable automotive display—a transformative solution that turns interior vehicle surfaces into adaptive, high-resolution digital interfaces. The flexible display can expand by up to 50% while maintaining 100 pixels per inch in full RGB color. When integrated into a car’s center fascia, it eliminates the need for separate screens and physical buttons, allowing for dynamic expansion and tactile feedback, thereby enhancing safety and operational ease.
Another major highlight is the world’s largest single automotive OLED panel: a 57-inch Pillar-to-Pillar display that spans across the entire dashboard. Designed for Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs), this ultra-wide screen provides real-time vehicle data and multimedia capabilities to both driver and passenger with exceptional clarity and immersive performance.
Also debuting is an 18-inch Slidable OLED display that descends from the vehicle’s ceiling only when in use. This space-saving solution delivers superior OLED image quality and a novel entertainment experience on the go. Both innovations have been tested to perform in extreme environments, from -40°C to 85°C, ensuring robust reliability in all driving conditions.
Further enhancing safety, LG Display will introduce its industry-first Switchable Privacy Mode (SPM). This technology allows passengers to enjoy private content such as movies or games without distracting the driver—an essential advancement in the age of larger shared displays.
Having led the industry with the world’s first commercialization of Tandem OLED for automotive in 2019, LG Display now strengthens its premium offerings with a full portfolio including P-OLED, Advanced Thin OLED (ATO), and high-end LTPS LCD technologies.
“As we head into SID Display Week 2025, LG Display remains focused on delivering technologies that not only push the boundaries of design but also elevate safety and user experience,” said Keuk-sang Kwon, Head of the Auto Business Group at LG Display. “We are proud to lead the future of automotive displays with solutions that reflect our vision for connected, intelligent mobility.”
