Munich, Germany, May 12, 2025:
LONGi, a global leader in solar energy innovation, unveiled its latest breakthrough—the EcoLife Series—on May 7 at the Intersolar exhibition in Munich. This launch marks the first commercial deployment of heterojunction back contact (HBC) technology in a solar module, setting a new industry standard in residential photovoltaics. The EcoLife Series delivers a world-leading cell efficiency of 27.3% and module efficiency of up to 25%, positioning it as a premium product for rooftop solar systems. The first variant launched, a 54-cell bifacial premium module, achieves a maximum power output of 510W and a power density of 250W per square meter, tailored for compact residential installations.
Developed specifically for residential users, the EcoLife brand offers high performance, safety, long-term reliability, and a sleek aesthetic, reflecting LONGi’s commitment to connecting directly with end users and responding dynamically to regional market needs. This series introduces the only mass-produced HJT + BC cell platform, which combines superior passivation with multi-angle light absorption, virtually eliminating metal recombination losses and achieving open-circuit voltages over 750mV. Compared to mainstream alternatives, EcoLife modules offer up to 40W higher output and can increase rooftop capacity by as much as 9%, demonstrating LONGi’s leadership in solar advancement.
Built on the HBC platform, the modules feature a low temperature coefficient of -0.24%/°C, first-year degradation of only 1%, and a best-in-class annual degradation rate of 0.35%. They are engineered to withstand snow loads up to four meters (6000 Pa) and Category 15 hurricane wind pressures (3600 Pa), and they carry a Class A fire rating, ensuring top-tier safety under extreme conditions. LONGi’s proprietary TaiRay wafer enhances mechanical strength by 16% and includes a thicker design that improves structural resilience. The back contact welding structure reduces stress at cell edges, significantly improving anti-crack performance.
EcoLife modules also utilize bipolar passivation on the front, sides, and rear, while the Anti-shading design reduces localized heating by up to 28% compared to traditional TOPCon modules, decreasing fire risks by minimizing hot spot formation. Two variants were introduced at the event: the LR7-54HJBB full black bifacial module, offering a maximum efficiency of 24.7% and 505W output, and the LR7-54HJD transparent bifacial module, delivering 25.0% efficiency and 510W output. Both are designed to perform optimally in low-light environments, supporting energy independence even in shaded or space-constrained areas.
With a 30-year warranty covering power and materials, the EcoLife Series exemplifies LONGi’s commitment to long-lasting, safe, and efficient residential solar solutions. The modules will be available across Europe beginning in August 2025.
