Helsinki, Finland — May 27, 2025:

LONGi Solar has announced a landmark agreement with a major Finnish energy enterprise to supply 102 megawatts of its high-efficiency Hi-MO X10 back contact solar modules, marking a significant expansion into the Nordic renewable energy market.

The deal represents the first deployment of LONGi’s advanced Hi-MO X10 technology in one of the world’s highest-latitude regions. The modules will be used across diverse sectors including hospitals, schools, shopping centers, and warehouses—contributing to lower electricity costs and long-term sustainability for public infrastructure.

Han Ziwei, General Manager of LONGi Nordic, emphasized the strategic importance of the project: “This cooperation marks a key milestone in the global deployment of back contact technology. It highlights the ability of Hi-MO X10 modules to operate reliably in challenging climatic conditions and support diversified renewable energy adoption across the Nordic region.”

The initiative is expected to reduce Finland’s annual carbon dioxide emissions by an estimated 105,672 to 163,200 tons, reinforcing the country’s commitment to decarbonization. As of the end of 2024, Finland's total installed solar photovoltaic capacity reached 1.2 GW—an increase from 1.0 GW in 2023—reflecting growing investment in solar energy.

The Hi-MO X10 module, with up to 24.8% efficiency, is particularly well-suited to Finland’s long winters and low-light conditions. Its back contact design ensures robust performance under heavy snow loads and cold temperatures, while minimizing localized overheating from shading. These features extend daily energy production and increase overall system reliability.

Aesthetically, the uniform, sleek design of the Hi-MO X10 aligns with Nordic architectural preferences, making it ideal for building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) applications.

The project further supports Finland’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2035, with integrated clean energy strategies combining solar, wind, and hydropower. Since 2018, LONGi has played an active role in advancing Finland’s green energy ambitions, and this latest supply deal further solidifies its presence as a technological partner in the nation’s energy transition.

As Finland accelerates its shift toward sustainable infrastructure, LONGi’s Hi-MO X10 modules provide a high-performance solution tailored to the unique environmental demands of the Nordic region—reinforcing the vital role of solar innovation in Europe’s renewable future.
