Washington, USA — May 23, 2025:
U.S. First Lady Melania Trump has released a new audiobook narrated by an artificial intelligence-generated version of her own voice—just weeks after publicly warning about the dangers of AI deepfakes.
Titled Melania — The AI Audiobook, the seven-hour production was announced on Thursday via social media. Priced at $25, it features what Trump describes as “my story, my perspective, the truth,” delivered through a digital replica of her voice. The announcement video showcased stylized, black-and-white CGI visuals of the former model, though it stopped short of explicitly clarifying whether the voice was hers or a synthetic recreation. Official sources later confirmed the voice was developed under Melania Trump's direct supervision.
“I am honored to bring you Melania — The AI Audiobook — narrated entirely using artificial intelligence in my own voice,” she stated in her post. “Let the future of publishing begin.”
The project marks a bold foray into AI-powered content creation, especially considering her recent support of the "Take It Down Act," which criminalizes the sharing of non-consensual explicit images, including AI-generated deepfakes. In March, Trump had led a campaign in support of the bill, advocating stronger protections against malicious online content.
While she has largely maintained a discreet presence in Washington since President Donald Trump's return to office, Melania continues to lead carefully curated ventures. The AI audiobook follows the release of a physical memoir last October—marketed as a premium collector's edition priced at $150—and precedes a forthcoming documentary series with Amazon reportedly worth tens of millions of dollars.
According to the project's official website, foreign-language versions of the audiobook are set to launch later this year, expanding its global footprint. The release has reignited public discussions about AI ethics, especially around the use of synthetic media by high-profile figures.
Critics point to the irony of the First Lady’s embrace of AI voice cloning so soon after championing legislation to regulate it. Yet supporters see it as a progressive move, highlighting AI's potential when used transparently and ethically.
“Melania — The AI Audiobook” presents a new chapter not only in publishing but also in how political figures engage with emerging technologies. Whether viewed as innovation or contradiction, the project solidifies Melania Trump’s intent to shape her public image on her own digital terms.
