Dhaka, Bangladesh – May 3, 2025:

A seminar titled “The Possibility of a Pak-India War and What Bangladesh Should Do” was held at the Shishu Kalyan Parishad in the capital on Saturday, organized by the National Muslim League. The event brought together party leaders, academics, and policymakers to discuss the escalating tensions between Pakistan and India, and their potential implications for Bangladesh.

Presiding over the seminar was Abdul Aziz Howlader, the acting president of the National Muslim League. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of national preparedness and strategic foresight amid growing regional instability.

The chief guest, Abdul Latif Masud, former vice-chancellor of Patuakhali University of Science and Technology, highlighted the need for a balanced foreign policy and strong internal security measures. He urged the government to prioritize national interests while navigating complex geopolitical challenges.

Advocate Aftab Hossain Mollah, the party’s acting secretary general, attended as a special guest. He echoed the sentiment that Bangladesh should adopt a cautious and pragmatic approach in light of any potential conflict between its neighboring nuclear powers.

Other notable attendees included Presidium Member Atiqul Islam, senior leader Mohammad Ali, Organizing Secretary Khan A. Asad, and Publicity Secretary Abdul Alim. Speakers collectively stressed the importance of unity, diplomacy, and national security in times of regional tension.
