Amsterdam, Netherlands — May 28, 2025:

Stellantis N.V. has announced the unanimous appointment of Antonio Filosa as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a pivotal leadership transition at one of the world’s largest automotive groups. The decision, made by the company’s Board of Directors after a comprehensive internal and external search, positions Filosa to assume the role effective June 23, 2025.

A 25-year veteran of the automotive industry, Filosa brings a wealth of operational experience, having held senior leadership roles across Latin America, North America, and Europe. He will also be nominated for election as an executive director during an upcoming Extraordinary Shareholder Meeting, to be convened in the coming days. In the interim, the Board has granted him full CEO powers to ensure a seamless transition.

“Antonio’s deep understanding of our company and industry, combined with his hands-on leadership across continents, makes him the ideal CEO to guide Stellantis into the future,” said Executive Chairman John Elkann, who led the Special Committee overseeing the search. “His recent performance across both North and South America during a period of enormous challenge has been nothing short of exceptional.”

Filosa’s tenure with Stellantis includes transformative leadership as Chief Operating Officer of South America, where he propelled the FIAT brand to the region’s top position and drove rapid growth across the Peugeot, CitroĂ«n, Ram, and Jeep portfolios. He was instrumental in the development of the Pernambuco manufacturing hub in Brazil, and in making Jeep a dominant brand in the region—Brazil now stands as Jeep’s largest market outside the U.S.

Most recently promoted to Chief Operating Officer for the Americas in December 2024, Filosa has already begun implementing reforms aimed at streamlining U.S. operations. His initiatives include reducing excessive dealer inventories, realigning the leadership structure, accelerating the launch of new products and powertrains, and strengthening relationships with stakeholders including dealers, unions, and suppliers.

Filosa’s upcoming transition into the CEO role will coincide with the announcement of a refreshed global leadership team. He is expected to set the course for Stellantis’ next growth phase, as the company navigates industry-wide shifts in electrification, digital innovation, and sustainable mobility.

Board members and international stakeholders praised the appointment. Stellantis Vice Chairman Robert Peugeot stated, “Antonio’s years of proven success and deep knowledge of our business and industry dynamics make him the natural choice to steer Stellantis forward.” Nicolas Dufourcq, CEO of Bpifrance, added, “At a time of transformation, Filosa has the talent to deliver continued success.”

Filosa expressed gratitude and resolve in his official statement. “It is my great honor to be named CEO of this fantastic company,” he said. “Our legacy of over 100 years of innovation, iconic brands, and passionate teams across the globe will drive us to deliver the best for our customers. I’m committed to building on this foundation with relentless focus and excellence.”

With his formal start set for June 23, all eyes are on Filosa as he steps into a role critical to the future direction of a company that holds some of the most storied brands in automotive history, including Jeep, Ram, FIAT, Dodge, Chrysler, Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, and Maserati.
