BEIJING, China — May 13, 2025:
Zhengzhou Nissan (ZNA) officially launched pre-sales for its latest pickup, the Z9, at a major event in Beijing on March 31, marking a significant step in its global expansion. With the unveiling of both the Z9 and Z9 GT variants, ZNA also announced plans to roll out up to nine new models over the next two years.
As the flagship of ZNA’s “Rugged Off-road Pickup Player” brand proposition, the Z9 embodies the company’s shift from utility to lifestyle. Built on the newly developed “α•Star” platform, the Z9 integrates advanced features in off-road capability, electrification, and smart technology. The platform supports fuel, electric, and PHEV versions, designed for everything from commercial use to adventure travel.
Nissan Motor’s CEO Stephen Ma reinforced the company’s commitment to ZNA’s off-road strategy, aligning it with Nissan’s broader “In China, For China, Toward the World” electrification initiative.
The Z9 is engineered for modern adventurers, offering standout features like a C-NCAP five-star safety rating, 97% high-strength chassis, 540° HD surround-view camera, adjustable rear seats, and 10 all-terrain driving modes. The pickup also includes luxury enhancements like a one-touch damped tailgate, electric running boards, and dual air filtration—making it ideal for long-distance, off-grid travel and RV camping.
Mao Limin, Executive VP of ZNA, emphasized the company's export ambitions: “Our goal is to be among the top global pickup exporters within three years, with a target of 100,000 units in sales.”
Following the Z9’s domestic debut, overseas pre-sales commenced at the Shanghai Auto Show, reinforcing ZNA's intention to build a global reputation for Chinese-manufactured pickups.
With this launch, ZNA not only expands its product lineup but also repositions itself as a lifestyle-driven brand that speaks to both traditional and next-generation users looking for performance, innovation, and freedom on any terrain.
