Washington, United States, July 4, 2025:

NASA is set to take space exploration beyond its traditional audiences by making its NASA Plus streaming content available on Netflix later this summer. The partnership will allow global subscribers of the OTT giant to experience rocket launches, astronaut spacewalks, mission control broadcasts, and breathtaking real-time views from the International Space Station (ISS) — all from the comfort of their living rooms.

Originally launched as NASA’s proprietary streaming platform, NASA Plus has served as a digital hub for live and on-demand content focused on scientific discovery, planetary exploration, and deep space missions. This expansion to Netflix marks a significant leap in public engagement with space science and technology.

Rebecca Sirmons, a senior administrator at NASA, emphasized the agency’s core mission under the National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958: “Our responsibility is to tell the story of space exploration to the public. With this partnership, people around the world will be able to witness historic missions and scientific milestones in real time.”

From Mars rover activities to Earth observations from orbit, the NASA content library on Netflix will give users an unprecedented front-row seat to the agency's groundbreaking work. Viewers can expect a variety of live events and curated educational segments that highlight ongoing missions and space research.

With over 300 million global subscribers, Netflix presents a massive new audience for NASA, broadening its outreach and potentially inspiring a new generation of scientists, engineers, and space enthusiasts.

The collaboration reflects a growing trend of scientific institutions turning to mainstream media platforms to amplify public access to educational content. For NASA, it also aligns with its vision of transparency and global participation in the future of space exploration.

NASA Plus on Netflix is scheduled to go live later this summer, with a slate of upcoming events — including major launches and ISS activities — expected to headline the first phase of content rollout.
