AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings partners with IAC Spokane to deliver a stunning Disney-themed aircraft livery for Alaska Airlines, featuring Princess Tiana and characters from The Princess and the Frog.
Nashville, USA — May 3, 2025:
AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings, in partnership with IAC Spokane, has once again turned the sky into a canvas of imagination by unveiling a new Disney-themed aircraft for Alaska Airlines. The latest creation, named Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Flyer, made its dazzling debut at Portland International Airport (PDX), showcasing a whimsical tribute to The Princess and the Frog.
Painted on a Boeing 737-800, the livery celebrates Alaska Airlines’ ongoing partnership with Disneyland Resort, just ahead of the launch of the new Tiana's Bayou Adventure attraction. The intricate design features AkzoNobel’s Aerodur basecoat/clearcoat (BCCC) system, which uses 19 bespoke colors and a proprietary binder formulation to ensure both striking visuals and long-term durability.
The vibrant livery was brought to life over 24 days and more than 2,000 labor hours by IAC’s skilled team. The fuselage prominently features Princess Tiana, accompanied by Louis the Alligator among lily pads, a glowing trail of fireflies extending from nose to tail, and beloved characters Mama Odie and Prince Naveen adorning the winglets.
“This has been another joyful project for us to work on,” said Leo Rosales, Sales Representative for Aerospace Coatings Americas at AkzoNobel. “It’s a stunning example of how our technical expertise in color and coatings can help create remarkable, high-performance liveries that captivate the imagination and inspire wonder.”
The aircraft, registered as N596AS, took its inaugural flight from Portland to Santa Ana, California, and becomes the fourth Disney-themed livery in Alaska Airlines' fleet. It joins Mickey’s Toontown Express (N565AS), Star Wars Transport to the Disneyland Resort (N538AS), and Friendship and Beyond at Disneyland Resort (N537AS)—all painted by IAC using AkzoNobel coatings.
With this latest addition, Alaska Airlines and AkzoNobel continue to bring enchantment to the skies, turning every flight into a magical adventure and reinforcing their shared commitment to creativity, excellence, and partnership with the Disney brand.
