DHAKA, Bangladesh — May 2, 2025:
DHS Motors Limited has officially launched the GAC brand of vehicles in the Bangladesh market, making it the fifth-largest Chinese auto manufacturer to enter the country. The announcement was made at the Dhaka Motor Show, held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), marking a significant moment for the Bangladeshi automobile industry.
The GAC brand, renowned for its high-quality vehicles, is also a major player in joint ventures with Honda and Toyota in China. DHS Motors is now adding GAC to its growing portfolio, which includes several other international brands. The launch event was attended by top officials from DHS Motors, including Imran Zaman Khan, CEO, and General Managers Arman Rashid and Farhan Samad. Joining them were GAC Country Managers Daniel Zhou and Raymon Wang, who were also present to introduce the new vehicles to the local market.
The GAC models unveiled in Bangladesh include the GAC EMKOO, a compact SUV; the GAC EMZOOM, a smaller and sportier SUV; and the GAC E9, a luxurious MPV designed for comfort and style.
Imran Zaman Khan, CEO of DHS Motors, emphasized that this premiere was part of the company's ongoing commitment to enhancing the automobile sector in Bangladesh. "The introduction of GAC to the Bangladesh market is a significant milestone for us, and it reflects our ambition to bring international-quality vehicles to local consumers," Khan said.
Looking ahead, DHS Motors is planning to expand its model lineup to include electric vehicles (EVs). Additionally, the company is exploring opportunities to assemble GAC vehicles locally in Bangladesh in the near future, further strengthening its presence in the market and contributing to the country’s automotive industry.
The introduction of GAC vehicles in Bangladesh offers consumers a wider range of options in the growing SUV and MPV segments, and with plans for local assembly and electric vehicles, the future of DHS Motors in Bangladesh looks promising.
