Huasun Energy, the world’s largest producer of heterojunction (HJT) solar modules, has signed an exclusive strategic partnership with German vertical bifacial PV pioneer Next2Sun to accelerate the deployment of innovative solar energy systems throughout Europe. The agreement was formalized during Intersolar Europe 2025 in Munich, marking a pivotal move in the evolution of vertical photovoltaic (PV) technologies.
This cooperation merges Huasun’s cutting-edge Kunlun Series HJT modules with Next2Sun’s proprietary vertical mounting systems—an integration already powering multiple successful projects across Europe. Next2Sun, recognized as the inventor and global technology leader in vertical bifacial PV and a trailblazer in agrivoltaics, sees the alliance as a means to push dual-use land applications further into the mainstream.
Vertical PV offers clear benefits: greater land-use efficiency, especially when combined with agricultural activity or linear infrastructure, and a dual-peak energy output profile aligned with morning and evening consumption demands. Huasun’s HJT modules boast nearly 100% bifaciality, enabled by advanced light-conversion films, anti-reflective coatings, and rear-optimized junction boxes—ideal for vertical installations.
In performance evaluations, vertical PV systems using Huasun modules in Munich project a 15.1% merchant income internal rate of return (IRR), underscoring the commercial promise of the approach. The Kunlun Series product line includes G12-132 and G12R-132 modules optimized for portrait orientations, alongside framed and frameless G12R-120 and G12R-108 models for landscape setups—offering global flexibility.
