Waaree Solar Americas Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of India’s largest solar PV module manufacturer Waaree Energies Limited, has signed a landmark solar module supply agreement with a prominent U.S.-based independent power producer (IPP). Valued at USD 176 million (approximately INR 1500 crore), the agreement covers the production and delivery of 586 megawatts (MW) of high-performance solar modules for four upcoming energy projects across the United States.
Manufacturing will take place at Waaree’s cutting-edge facility in Brookshire, Texas, with deliveries scheduled throughout fiscal years 2026–27. The modules will incorporate several U.S.-made components, ensuring compliance with the Investment Tax Credit (ITC) domestic content rules and reinforcing the resilience of the American clean energy supply chain amid shifting trade dynamics and policy priorities.
“This agreement reflects Waaree’s unwavering commitment to building a robust, resilient, and technologically advanced clean energy supply chain in the United States,” said Sunil Rathi, President of Waaree Solar Americas. “Our Brookshire facility is uniquely positioned to deliver quality U.S.-made modules that directly support America's energy transition, strengthen job creation, and enhance national energy security.”
Rathi highlighted the strategic nature of the collaboration, citing Waaree’s decades-long manufacturing expertise in India and its growing presence in the U.S. market. “Our partnership reflects a shared vision for energy independence and sustainability. We’re proud to power our partner’s ambitious project pipeline with reliable, high-efficiency solar technology.”
This agreement further elevates Waaree’s position as a globally trusted supplier of photovoltaic modules, known for its dynamic and risk-mitigated supply chain. As the U.S. sees surging electricity demand, driven by AI infrastructure, data centers, and industrial growth, Waaree aims to meet the evolving needs of energy developers and grid operators with scalable, dependable solar solutions.
With this major milestone, Waaree underscores its long-term commitment to the U.S. market, positioning its Brookshire operations as a cornerstone of American solar manufacturing and contributing meaningfully to the nation’s clean energy ambitions.
