United and Spotify Launch Groundbreaking Inflight Entertainment Partnership

United Airlines and Spotify announce a first-of-its-kind inflight entertainment partnership, bringing free podcasts, music, audiobooks, and video content to over 130,000 seatback screens.

CHICAGO, USA — June 5, 2025:

United Airlines and Spotify have joined forces in a first-of-its-kind collaboration to redefine inflight entertainment. Effective immediately, passengers aboard more than 680 United aircraft can enjoy Spotify’s expansive library of music, video and audio podcasts, and audiobooks — all available for free through 130,000+ seatback screens.

The new “Spotify” section replaces the traditional “audio” category in United’s inflight entertainment menu. Travelers can now explore curated content including top shows like Good Hang with Amy Poehler, The Dave Chang Show, and The Comment Section with Drew Afualo, along with specially selected playlists and audiobooks.

“This partnership gives our customers a whole new way to explore premium entertainment from the world's most popular artists and creators — right from their seat,” said Richard Nunn, CEO of MileagePlus. “It’s another step toward making the inflight experience as enjoyable as possible.”

Passengers flying on Starlink-equipped aircraft will also be able to stream Spotify content on their personal devices from gate to gate by logging into their MileagePlus account. Even more exciting, in 2026, travelers will be able to sign into their Spotify accounts directly on the seatback screens to continue their personalized content right where they left off.

To mark the launch, new Spotify Premium Individual subscribers can earn up to 1,000 MileagePlus miles. This offer will be promoted through United’s Kinective MediaSM, the airline industry’s first traveler media network, which reaches passengers across all stages of their journey — including inflight screens, the United app, United Club screens, and email communications.

With over 450 hours of free entertainment and seamless tech integration on the horizon, United and Spotify are setting a new standard for flying — combining convenience, personalization, and entertainment at cruising altitude.
