Hamburg, Germany – June 29, 2025:

Yutong Bus, a global leader in commercial electric mobility, unveiled its latest innovation—the IC12E battery-electric intercity bus—at the UITP 2025 Global Public Transport Summit in Hamburg, Germany, held from June 15 to 18. Under the theme “Think Green, Move Green,” Yutong presented its vision for sustainable public transportation, featuring two flagship models: the IC12E and the award-winning U12 city electric bus.

Designed specifically for the European intercity market, the IC12E combines long-range performance, spacious capacity, and cutting-edge battery technology. Following the summit, the IC12E embarked on an extensive test drive across four European countries, starting in Hamburg and passing through Copenhagen (Denmark), Gothenburg (Sweden), and concluding in Oslo (Norway). The journey covered 1,272 kilometers and varied terrain—urban streets, coastal highways, and steep gradients—demonstrating the vehicle's adaptability and endurance.

During the test, the IC12E achieved a notable energy consumption rate of just 0.7 kWh/km (unloaded) and successfully completed a 510 km range test between Germany and Denmark, with a state of charge dropping from 99% to 31%—still leaving a 170 km reserve. Charging efficiency was equally impressive, with the battery charging from 13% to 99% in 1 hour and 40 minutes using a single charging gun. On uphill roads in Norway, the bus tackled 20% gradients, further proving its strength in real-world conditions.

Also showcased was the Yutong U12, a premium electric city bus with a 12-meter body, 95-passenger capacity, and a rigid closed-loop structure. Equipped with the YESS battery safety system, the U12 ensures safety, comfort, and intelligent energy management. It was recently honored with the Busworld Design Label Award.

Yutong reaffirmed its commitment to developing advanced, eco-conscious transit solutions to enhance global public transport systems. With its IC12E and U12 models, the company continues to lead the industry toward a greener future.
