SAN FRANCISCO, US – July 20, 2025:
Elegoo, a fast-growing name in global smart manufacturing and 3D printing innovation, turned heads at Open Sauce 2025 this weekend in San Francisco, dazzling attendees with an imaginative lineup of 3D printed creations powered by AI, robotics, and artistic collaboration. Hosted at the San Mateo County Event Center from July 18 to 20, the event brought together some of the world's most creative minds in tech—and Elegoo stood out at Booths A15 and A16.
Celebrating its commitment to the maker spirit, Elegoo used the Open Sauce platform to highlight how open-source technologies and 3D printing can be fused to empower creators. “We’re here at Open Sauce because it celebrates the maker spirit we believe in,” said Coco Lee, Brand Director at Elegoo. “This isn’t just a place to show off tech—it’s where people come to make it their own. We’re here to co-create, spark ideas, explore collaborations, and most of all, deliver the fun and wonder of 3D printing.”
Among the many standout projects was a fleet of nine open-source AI robots, designed in-house by Elegoo’s engineers. Inspired by Otto and XiaoZhi AI projects, the robots run on the ESP32-S3 chip and have been entirely reimagined with custom 3D printed shells, a new control board, and rewritten firmware. These expressive bots can interpret voice commands, display emotions, take photos, and understand user intent via onboard sensors—an impressive showcase of how AI and 3D printing can merge into accessible innovation.
In a striking display of wearable tech, Elegoo teamed up with Willow Creative to unveil animatronic LED cosplay wings. Built over just four weeks, the wings feature 3D printed feathers, frames, hinges, and connectors, created using the OrangeStorm Giga and Centauri Carbon printers. Transparent PETG feathers paired with addressable LED strips create glowing, dynamic lighting effects that lit up the convention floor.
Another favorite was Tipsy, short for Totally Intelligent Pouring System—an AI-powered drink dispenser built by Concept Bytes with Elegoo’s printing support. With a 3D printed shell and intuitive control panel, Tipsy connects up to 12 drink sources and delivers precise pours with visual feedback and ChatGPT-generated images, adding a creative twist to refreshment. Like many of Elegoo’s featured projects, Tipsy is entirely open-source.
Also capturing attention was GlowGear, a futuristic cosplay sword co-created with Little Jem. Complete with smoke effects, LED lighting, and sound, the sword took 120 hours of print time using the Centauri Carbon and stood as a testament to the power of detailed, functional 3D prints.
Alongside the show-stopping creations, Elegoo offered hands-on experiences with their latest high-performance 3D printers, including the Centauri Carbon and Jupiter 2. Visitors engaged with interactive games, giveaways, and creative showcases, reflecting Elegoo’s mission to make advanced technology fun, accessible, and deeply personal.
Open Sauce 2025 may be wrapping up, but Elegoo’s contributions leave a lasting impression. By blending technology with creativity, open-source ethos with practical innovation, and global collaboration with local maker energy, the brand continues to prove why it’s leading the charge in the next generation of 3D printing.
