Damascus, Syria – July 11, 2025:

Turkiye’s state-owned satellite communications operator, Türksat, has officially launched Ka-Band satellite internet access across Syria, significantly advancing digital connectivity in the war-torn country. Following high-level negotiations in Damascus this week, the project marks a major milestone in bilateral cooperation and regional tech integration.

Powered by the Türksat 5B satellite, the high-capacity service is now delivering uninterrupted internet access to Syrian regions previously lacking fiber-optic or cable infrastructure. Key public locations have already been equipped with satellite terminals to ensure sustainable and fast digital public services.

In addition to high-speed internet, Türksat is rolling out turnkey solutions for television and radio broadcasting, e-government platforms, disaster communication networks, and secure infrastructure for public institutions. These integrated systems are tailored to support Syria’s digital transformation, with Türkiye providing both the technology and operational expertise.

“This is not just about internet access—it’s about empowering essential services and communication systems in areas long cut off from modern infrastructure,” said a Türksat official.

The Ka-Band technology allows for wide coverage, reduced latency, and resilience in emergency conditions, making it an ideal solution for Syria’s recovery-phase development. The initiative also aligns with Türkiye’s broader strategy to foster regional stability through digital infrastructure and cross-border collaboration.

Looking ahead, Türksat plans to continue installing satellite terminals in additional Syrian regions, reinforcing its commitment to full national coverage. This initiative strengthens Türkiye’s leadership in space-based communication services across the Middle East and reaffirms its role in post-conflict reconstruction through innovation and technology.
