HERNDON, Virginia, USA. – September 19, 2025:

Akima, a leading provider of mission-critical solutions to the federal government, celebrated the grand opening of its new 35,000-square-foot office in Huntsville, Alabama, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on September 10. This move marks a significant milestone in Akima's continued expansion in Huntsville’s thriving defense, aerospace, and technology sectors.

The event was attended by key local and industry leaders, including Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle, Madison County Commission Chairman Mac McCutcheon, U.S. Army personnel, FBI representatives, and Akima leadership. The new office is designed to support Akima’s growing client base, including defense agencies and aerospace manufacturers, with specialized services in engineering, logistics, mission support, and IT solutions.

“This expansion solidifies our long-term commitment to Huntsville and strengthens our ability to deliver mission-essential solutions to our federal partners,” said Bill Monet, President and CEO of Akima. “By increasing our presence here, we’re not only enhancing our capacity to support critical national security missions but also contributing to the region’s economic vitality by creating new job opportunities.”

The new Huntsville office will provide Akima with greater capacity to support important defense missions at Redstone Arsenal, a key location for the U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency, and Space and Missile Defense Command. Akima’s portfolio in the region includes facility support, engineering expertise, maintenance services, and analytical software for the FBI and several other federal agencies.

In addition to its business expansion, Akima is committed to investing in Huntsville's future workforce. As part of its continued dedication to education and workforce development, Akima subsidiary Pinnacle Solutions has partnered with the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering (ASCTE), contributing $100,000 to the ASCTE Foundation. This donation will help train the next generation of cyber, technology, and engineering professionals, ensuring the region remains a hub for innovation.

Akima is also a proud sponsor of the Rocket City Classic at the Von Braun Center, as part of its broader commitment to the Huntsville community.
