HEFEI, China – September 19, 2025:

The 2025 World Manufacturing Convention will kick off from September 20 to 23 in Hefei, capital of Anhui Province, China. The four-day event will focus on smart manufacturing and frontier technologies, attracting over 40 countries and regions, including global government officials, business leaders, and industry experts. With foreign participants expected to make up more than half of the attendees, the convention is set to become a major international hub for technological exchange.

Under the theme "Smart Manufacturing World, Creating Beauty," the convention will feature cutting-edge innovations, with a special focus on intelligent robotics. For the first time, robots will be showcased in real-world settings such as elderly care centers, shops, and service stations. This unique presentation highlights the potential applications of robotics beyond traditional industrial production lines, emphasizing their role in improving daily life.

Anhui Province, once a predominantly agricultural region, has transformed into a powerhouse for emerging industries. According to Chang Yejun, Deputy Secretary-General of the Anhui Provincial Government, the province now leads the country in several key sectors. It accounts for about 10% of the world’s display panels, 8% of China’s industrial robots, 11% of its New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), and 50% of China’s photovoltaic glass production.

At the heart of this transformation is NEVs (New Energy Vehicles), which will take center stage at the convention. Leading companies like JAC Motors, Huawei, and Chery will showcase their latest smart electric vehicles, automotive-grade chips, intelligent driving systems, and quantum-secure communication technologies. These innovations are expected to shape the future of the global automotive industry.

In addition to smart manufacturing and NEVs, the event will feature the latest breakthroughs in frontier industries. A major highlight will be the Burning Plasma Experimental Superconducting Tokamak (BEST) model, a compact fusion reactor currently under construction in Hefei, aimed at advancing fusion energy. Also on display will be the Origin Wukong quantum computer, a cutting-edge machine that has already completed over 690,000 computing tasks across 163 countries, with visits surpassing 34 million.

The 2025 World Manufacturing Convention promises to be a significant event for Hefei and Anhui, reaffirming the region’s role as a leader in smart manufacturing and advanced technologies. The convention will provide an unparalleled platform for global collaboration, showcasing the next wave of technological innovation and the potential of intelligent industries.
