Newark, California, United States — September 6, 2025:
Lucid Group, the trailblazing electric vehicle manufacturer, has launched its most ambitious global campaign to date—Driven—starring Academy Award-nominated actor Timothée Chalamet and directed by acclaimed filmmaker James Mangold. The visually stunning campaign debuts the Lucid Gravity, the brand’s upcoming all-electric luxury SUV, in a story that blends innovation with cinematic flair.
The campaign, produced in partnership with Minted Content and featuring stunt work by Ford v Ferrari veterans, is available in 30-second, 60-second, and two-minute director’s cut formats. It marks the beginning of a multi-year collaboration with Chalamet, who has been named Lucid’s first global brand ambassador.
In Driven, Chalamet plays a groom on a symbolic quest to "see the world" with his bride, portrayed by model and actress Larsen Thompson. When their motorcycle breaks down on a deserted road, the couple stumbles upon a secret facility, hijacks a mysterious supercar—the Lucid Gravity—and embarks on a pulse-pounding escape through the desert. The story positions the Gravity not just as a vehicle, but as an otherworldly breakthrough in design, performance, and possibility.
“This campaign marks an exciting step toward a new way of storytelling for Lucid,” said Akerho “AK” Oghoghomeh, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Lucid Motors. “By uniting Timothée’s star power with James’ cinematic vision, we were able to create a narrative that doesn’t just highlight the car—it transforms it into an experience.”
The production features stunt coordination by professional racer Tanner Foust and is set to a haunting reimagining of "Burning" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, amplifying the campaign’s emotional impact.
The Lucid Gravity, prominently featured in the film, is a fully electric, three-row luxury SUV offering a rare combination of interior space, sports-car performance, and long-range capability. Designed to accommodate up to seven passengers and their gear, the Gravity sets a new standard for electric mobility in both form and function.
Timothée Chalamet, recently awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown (2024), continues to expand his influence across film and beyond. He will next appear in Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie, and return as Paul Atreides in Dune: Part Three in 2026.
With Driven, Lucid positions itself not just as a car manufacturer, but as a cultural force merging technology, luxury, and art in a way few brands dare to explore.
