Smart, the premium intelligent electric vehicle brand, has officially confirmed the launch of its all-new electric city car, the Smart #2. The compact, two-seater vehicle will mark the brand’s return to the A-segment, a category originally pioneered by the iconic smart fortwo.
Building on over two decades of urban mobility expertise, the Smart #2 will offer a sleek and modern design, created by Mercedes-Benz Design, and will be powered by an all-new proprietary electric architecture, developed in-house by Smart’s engineering team. Designed specifically for urban environments, this model will expand Smart's product portfolio, complementing the existing Smart #1, #3, and #5 vehicles.

Currently in the final stages of design and development, the Smart #2 is scheduled for production in China and will be launched in key global markets, including China and Europe, in late 2026. The vehicle will serve as the perfect addition to Smart's expanding portfolio, catering to diverse mobility needs — from agile city cars to premium mid-range electric SUVs.
