SYDNEY, Australia — September 2, 2025:

GameChange Solar, a leading global provider of solar tracking and fixed-tilt racking technologies, has successfully secured its first solar tracker project in New Zealand, marking a significant expansion into the Oceania region. The project, which is a key milestone for the company, involves the installation of advanced Genius Tracker 1P systems at the upcoming Dannevirke Solar Farm developed by Bright Fern Energy.

Located near the town of Dannevirke, the 23 MWp utility-scale project will feature GameChange Solar’s cutting-edge technology, including a four-string configuration and integrated SpeedClamp technology, designed to streamline installation and reduce costs. This project will be the first in New Zealand to use SpeedClamps, which help accelerate module installation, lowering overall project expenses.

The Genius Tracker system will also include HailStow functionality, a critical feature that ensures the safety of the solar modules during adverse weather conditions. By tilting the panels to a safer angle during hail events, the system helps mitigate potential damage, while also lowering insurance premiums for the project. This makes it an ideal solution for New Zealand’s varied and sometimes unpredictable weather.

Bright Fern Energy, which is a cornerstone customer for GameChange Solar in the New Zealand market, has been particularly impressed by the early engineering involvement provided by GameChange Solar. According to Cassidy Prent, acting CEO of Bright Fern Energy, “GameChange Solar brought valuable engineering insight and experience from the early stages of the process. They aligned with our technical priorities and were able to provide tailored solutions for the unique site conditions of Dannevirke. This collaboration has been essential in the development of the project, and we see GameChange Solar as a trusted partner moving forward.”

The project is expected to be commissioned by March 2026 and will be the first of three fully consented solar projects that Bright Fern Energy plans to begin construction on over the next 18 months.

Vaibhav Joshi, Managing Director of GameChange Solar – Oceania, emphasized the importance of this collaboration for the company’s growth in the region. “Our partnership with Bright Fern Energy represents a significant step in strengthening our presence in New Zealand and across Oceania,” he said. “Our Genius Tracker technology is designed to adapt to diverse terrain and weather conditions, enabling more efficient builds and ensuring long-term reliability for utility-scale solar projects. This project is a testament to our ability to deliver tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of developers and achieve optimal performance both in design and execution.”

With the Dannevirke Solar Farm marking the first major step of GameChange Solar’s expansion into New Zealand, the company continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing cutting-edge technology that enhances the efficiency and sustainability of renewable energy projects around the world.
