Tech Desk — August 21, 2026:

D-Link is expanding its enterprise Wi-Fi 7 lineup with the new DAP-E3620 Series, a family of access points designed for different business environments.

The new series combines BE3600 dual-band Wi-Fi 7 with 2.5Gbps Multi-Gigabit Ethernet and Power over Ethernet, or PoE. D-Link says the combination is designed to reduce network bottlenecks and provide the bandwidth needed for demanding business applications.

That is an important part of its new announcement.

Instead of focusing only on faster wireless connectivity, D-Link is also looking at the network infrastructure behind the access point. The company is pairing the new devices with its DMS-1250 series 2.5Gbps PoE switches to create what it describes as an end-to-end Wi-Fi 7 networking solution.

The access points support several Wi-Fi 7 technologies, including Multi-Link Operation, 4K-QAM and Multi-RU. D-Link says these features are designed to improve wireless performance and low-latency connectivity for applications such as cloud services, video conferencing and IoT.

The lineup includes three models.

The DAP-E3620 is a ceiling-mounted access point designed for offices, classrooms and other enterprise spaces.

The DAP-E3620W uses a wall-plate design for environments such as hotels, dormitories, healthcare facilities and multi-dwelling units.

The DAP-E3620OU is designed for outdoor locations, including campuses and public venues.

This gives businesses more flexibility when planning a Wi-Fi 7 network. A hotel room, classroom and outdoor campus area may need different types of access points, and D-Link is offering models for each situation.

PoE is another key part of the design. It allows the access points to receive power and network connectivity through Ethernet, which can make installation easier in places where running separate power connections would be difficult.

D-Link is also focusing on centralized management.

The DAP-E3620 Series works with the company’s Nuclias management solutions, including hardware and software controllers and Nuclias Unity cloud management. IT teams can use these tools to configure, monitor and maintain network infrastructure from a central platform.

Security is also built into the enterprise approach, with D-Link highlighting advanced authentication and network segmentation.

The company sees the new series being used across offices, education, hospitality, enterprise campuses and residential developments.

As businesses add more connected devices and rely more heavily on cloud applications, video conferencing and IoT, wireless networks are under increasing pressure.

D-Link’s approach with the DAP-E3620 Series is to upgrade more than just the Wi-Fi connection. By combining Wi-Fi 7 with multi-gigabit Ethernet, PoE and centralized management, the company is positioning the new range as a broader network upgrade for modern businesses.
